KsRHA Leadership Training Information

The KsRHA is excited to select training for up to 10 KsRHA members interested in participating in the Kansas Leadership Center (KLC) 3-Step Leadership Training Path: Embark on Your Leadership Journey training through an award recently received by the association. The KLC leadership path will teach you how. Change the way you manage yourself and mobilize others. Transform your leadership skills and become more effective in solving problems with the KLC three-step leadership development path. Find your step on the path. 

KsRHA will select a group of current members from diverse backgrounds, both personally and professionally, each with strong potential as a future rural health leader.  The KsRHA will be seeking to select candidates with a particular interest in serving in key positions in the Kansas Rural Health Association and/or Kansas Center for Rural Health advisory roles among other key initiatives throughout rural Kansas in the future. Prior membership is not required; just sign up for membership prior to completing the application!

Purpose: The Kansas Rural Health Association (KsRHA) serves Kansans through interdisciplinary collaboration to provide innovative ways to promote healthy rural communities to survive and thrive into the future through education and advocacy.

Requirements, eligibility, and fees

Requirements:  Selected participants will meet 5 times for intensive leadership throughout the year. Applicants will also participate in conference calls and should be dedicated to advocating on behalf of rural health.

Eligibility:  Applicants must -

  • Be a KSRHA member or be willing to join before the start of the program.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the public health of Kansans in rural or underserved areas.

  • Attend 3 in-person or virtual training sessions as part of the 3-step training path and participate in a couple conference calls as part of the program.

Fees:  Tuition and books for the training sessions will be covered by the KsRHA as a recipient of the KLC Leadership Transformation Grant.

Please note: Applicants must have a sponsor (employer, institution, self) responsible for all travel and lodging costs associated with attending the in-person training sessions.

  • KsRHA encourages applicants to include a request for sponsorship from our association for in-person options.

(1) A personal statement, no more than one page. Discuss your particular interests and issues in rural Kansas. How might your participation in the Kansas Leadership Training Center Path training sessions enable you to address these interests and issues? (2) Include a resume or CV.

Deadline: Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm on February 28, 2023.
